Mitigrate is a VC-backed ClimateTech and InsurTech SaaS startup generating fully automated analyses leading to preventive measures for reducing climate damage on real estate. We use high-resolution satellite images, machine learning models and optimisation algorithms to predict how 40+ climate-positive prevention measures can be implemented to reduce risk. Business value stems from reducing risks on individual assets and prioritising preventive measures within large commercial and residential real estate portfolios. Our customers are insurance companies, banks and municipalities.

We were recently awarded a Horizon EU project as part of a large consortium in insurance product innovation. Mitigrate was ranked 27th most innovative InsurTech startup in Europe by Insurtech Connect, the largest InsurTech conference in Europe and qualified to join the Lloyd's Lab accelerator in London, one of the most prestigious InsurTech accelerators in the world!

Job Description:

As a Full Stack Engineer at Mitigrate, you play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and user-friendly. You will work in a collaborative and dynamic environment. You will work very closely with the CTO and other software engineers where your expertise in Django, React, Terraform, AWS, and related technologies will be essential in delivering high-quality remote sensing and machine learning software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and refine project requirements.

• Develop and maintain web applications using Django and React.

• Design, implement, and optimise database structures.

• Create and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration with front-end and third-party systems.

• Ensure the security and scalability of web applications.

• Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform on AWS.

• Debug and resolve technical issues as they arise.

• Write high-quality, maintainable code with a focus on code reviews and testing.

• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in the field.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Proven experience in web development with Django and React or other related web frameworks and libraries.

• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related front-end technologies.

• Proficiency in writing efficient and maintainable code.

• Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Bonus points:​

• Experience with cloud infrastructure management, especially AWS, using Terraform.

• Experience with developing geospatial and AI-based software

• Familiarity with Serverless technologies (e.g. Lambda)
